Supercharged Agility with Kanban – the Red Hat JBoss EAP story

Abstract

Developing products that address Cloud use-cases naturally leads to the adoption of some form of Agile development methodology. While most teams will default to Scrum for development, this is not the only option available. Come to our talk to learn how the somewhat large and very much distributed Red Hat/JBoss EAP Engineering team got to adopt Kanban, reduced an average product release cycle from 18 months down to 3 and survived to tell the story. We are going to share what we have learned, the pros and cons, the pitfalls and the challenges, as well as demonstrate Overbård, a custom opensource JIRA plugin developed by the team to deal with the complexities of our workflow.
