As organisations mature their agile development methodologies the desire to release frequently increases. At the same time, our customers now have the expectation that services will be highly available, fast and secure from day one. There is a natural tension here and DevOps with its emphasis on automation and collaboration looks to solve both challenges. But what if you could automate so many of your operational concerns that you could run a highly available system without a dedicated Ops team?
In this session Steve will explore both the DevOps and NoOps approaches to this challenge, drawing on real-world examples from both large and small organisations.
The talk will illustrate technical, architectural and cultural changes that are necessary to build and maintain systems that can be deployed safely to production multiple times a day whilst still being highly available.
